Lecrae Announces New Book
LF Radio and four time Grammy winner Lecrae is set to release his latest literary work, Set Me Free: The Good News of God’s Relentless Pursuit, on December 2, 2025, via Zondervan Gift Books.
What Set Me Free Is About
In this deeply personal collection, Lecrae weaves together poems and essays that reflect his ongoing journey of identity, healing, and spiritual freedom. He explores themes of shame, grace, and what it means to be truly free, not just outwardly, but internally.
Lecrae has said that he wanted to “put words to the process of breaking [chains] … so others know they’re not alone in rebuilding their lives.” Through a mix of poetic meditations, journal like reflections, and even biblical passages, he invites the reader into his creative process, including early drafts of songs, personal history, and how faith has reshaped him.
Lecrae’s Recent Musical Momentum
Lecrae hasn’t just been writing. He’s been making major waves in music lately:
-
His tenth studio album, Reconstruction, dropped on August 22, 2025, via Reach Records.
-
The album features a powerful lineup of collaborators: Jackie Hill Perry, Aklesso, Hollyn, and Torey D’Shaun.
-
Lecrae is also on the road on his Reconstruction World Tour throughout 2025 with many stops planned.
-
On the awards front, Lecrae continues to shine. He won two Grammys at the 2024 awards for Church Clothes 4 (Best Contemporary Christian Album) and for “Your Power” with Tasha Cobbs Leonard (Best Contemporary Christian Performance/Song).
Why This Book Matters
With Set Me Free, Lecrae is expanding his influence beyond music, offering something deeply vulnerable and spiritually rich. This book isn’t just for fans of his rap, it’s for anyone searching for healing, identity, or a deeper understanding of what freedom in faith looks like.
Through his raw lyricism and now his written word, Lecrae continues to be a voice for restoration, speaking into cultural issues, faith, and personal transformation.
