Before hearing the stylings of Lathan Warlick on the airwaves of LF Radio, you may have come across his talents on the ‘For You Page’ of TikTok, where millions have watched him share his Christian faith while performing rap verses from his car in the middle of popular songs, like Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved”, “Hello” by Adele, “Circle” from Post Malone, and “The Box” by Roddy Ricch.

Since he began posting videos to the social media platform, he has more than 2.2 million followers, including country music artist, Granger Smith, who invited him to perform a rap verse on his song, “That’s Why I Love Dirt Roads”. That has led to many other collaborations with country musicians looking for the infusion of hip hop into the lyrics of the songs.

Although he was drawn to music as a child growing up on the east side of Jackson, Tennessee, Warlick’s creative passion was focused on dance, not making music. But growing up in an area known for gangs, violence and crime, Lathan found himself in some pretty scary situations a number of times including a near-death experience at gunpoint. It was this experience that led to Lathan’s change in direction, both spiritually and creatively as he got involved in church and spoken word, eventually transitioning to rap music. And with some encouragement from friends and family, he began showcasing his talent on TikTok.

The native Tennessean now calls Nashville home because of his success on TikTok and the opportunity to pursue a full-time music career (he previously worked as a railroad welder) to spread his message of “God, love and unity" through songs like "Flex", "Gotta Be God" and "Look Up To The Sky".
