Blake Whiteley is a 30 year old christian hip-hop artist from Danville, IN.
Prior to becoming a christian, Blake was a secular artist growing in internet recognition, opening for headliners, and ultimately giving in to the empty promises of this world and he sought pleasure in women, fortune, and fame. During a show at Auburn University, with Wiz Khalifa, Blake realized there had to be more to life than the temporary “satisfaction” of his sin. Long story short, he walked off the stage in the middle of the show with Wiz Khalifa and flew home and started to give his life to Christ.
After a time of spiritual growth, God called him to continue his music and showed him a new avenue in which to showcase the talent He had given him. The focus of Blake's music now is to honor God with the lyrics and reflect Christ through his ministry and testimony. Blake writes about his own troubled history, spinning it into lyrics that point toward experiencing the ultimate hope of a God who is redeeming it all. The goal is to reach people where they are through a means with which they can connect to the music, and Blake can speak his testimony, real truths, and God’s Word into them. Satan and the world are screaming lies into people. Blake wants to scream the truth even louder.
Blake had been grinding it out on the independent artist path for eight years, with a 2015 EP called "Drought Season" and a full length album in 2017 titled "Break Thru" which broke into the iTunes chart at #4 in hip-hop and #63 overall. His work ethic and perseverance paid off after that when he caught the attention of Nashville Label Group while opening for Britt Nicole and Sidewalk Prophets, Blake inked a deal with the imprint TrueBreed Records.
If you’ve listened to Blake’s music, it’s not hard to hear why he’s on the rise: he’s creating songs that could be described as a blend of Drake, Post Malone and Juice WRLD, but with bars built around an intense focus on leading listeners to encounter the Gospel.
