Ryan Ellis is a GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and worship leader from Southern California, known for his soulful blend of contemporary Christian music, R&B, and pop. His journey from Navy service to chart-topping artist is marked by resilience, faith, and a passion for connecting people to God's love through music.

Early Life and Musical Roots
Born in San Diego and raised by a single mother, Ellis found solace in music from a young age. After high school, he served five years in the U.S. Navy, including a tour in Afghanistan. It was during this time that he reconnected with his faith, realizing his calling to use his voice and songwriting as a means to express and share his beliefs.

Career Milestones
Ellis began his musical career with Isla Vista Worship, releasing his first project in 2015. He followed up with two EPs, Live from the Upper Room II and Kingdom Glory, and later released dual LPs, Lyfe and Rysponse, which encouraged listeners to confront struggles while standing firm in God's promises.

In 2022, Ellis released his self-titled album, featuring the hit single "Heart of the Father," which reached No. 2 on both the Christian Airplay and Christian AC Airplay charts. The album showcased his ability to blend genres and deliver messages of hope and faith.

Ellis has also made significant contributions as a songwriter, penning songs for artists like Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Natalie Grant, and Housefires. Notably, he wrote "Resurrection Power" for Chris Tomlin, earning a GMA Dove Award nomination and ASCAP’s “Most Performed Song” award in 2018.

Recent Projects and Upcoming Features
In January 2025, Ellis released his latest album, Real Love, which explores themes of love, acceptance, and empathy in today's world. The album includes tracks like "Better Days," "Holy Place," and "Without Jesus," the latter two released as a double single in the summer of 2024.

Ellis's songwriting prowess continues to be recognized, with a GRAMMY nomination for his work on Maverick City Music's "God Problems" and a K-LOVE Fan Award nomination for "I Thank God" by Housefires featuring JWLKRS & Ryan Ellis.

Beyond his musical achievements, Ellis is a devoted husband and father. He resides in Southern California with his wife, Cassie, and their children. His personal experiences, including the loss of their son Asa, deeply influence his music, infusing it with authenticity and heartfelt emotion.
