Background & Origins

Good Weather Forecast, often known as GWF, is a Christian pop/rock band from Bavaria, Germany whose energetic blend of pop, rock, electronic, and dance elements has helped them stand out both in Europe and beyond. The band formed in 2007 under the original name “Forecast,” performing in small venues across southern Germany before expanding into larger festivals, school tours, and international stages. Their name, “Good Weather Forecast,” reflects their desire to spread hope and point listeners toward God’s goodness, even through life’s difficult seasons.

Band Members

The group was founded by the Stielper brothers—Florian, Johannes, and David—and they remain the driving core of the band. Today, Good Weather Forecast consists of:

  • Florian Stielper – Lead vocals

  • Johannes Stielper – Guitar, bass, backing vocals

  • David Stielper – Drums and percussion

  • Timo Kästner – Keys, trumpet, backing vocals

Earlier in their career, the band featured additional brass and instrumental members due to their punk roots, but the modern lineup reflects their shift toward a more polished pop/rock and electronic style.

Musical Mission & Style

From the beginning, Good Weather Forecast has combined highenergy music with deeply rooted Christian themes. They have consistently used their platform to share messages of hope, faith, and resilience. Beyond traditional Christian venues, the band has performed at mainstream rock festivals, appeared on television, and toured extensively through school ministry programs. Their heart has always been to communicate God’s love in a way that reaches a broad audience, using their music to encourage people facing life’s storms.

Latest Music & Recent Releases

In January 2025, Good Weather Forecast released their Rebels of Hope EP through DREAM Records, a six track project featuring songs such as “Let’s Build A House,” “Good To Me,” “Can’t Get Enough,” “Close To You,” and the title track. Earlier that year, they released “Now I See It,” a deeply personal single inspired by lead singer Florian Stielper’s reflections on his wife’s chronic illness. He has described it as one of the most personal songs they’ve ever written, exploring themes of pain, beauty, and trusting God in difficult circumstances.

The band continued releasing new music throughout 2025. In June, they debuted “Pray,” a mid tempo track focused on humility, love, and choosing a path of peace and compassion. In August, they followed with “Today,” a collaboration with Christian pop artist Elijah Thomas, a joyful, high energy song encouraging listeners to find fulfillment and contentment in God rather than in comparison or fear.

Why They Stand Out

Across their evolution from punk origins to modern electro pop and rock, Good Weather Forecast has retained a recognizable authenticity. Their willingness to write candidly about real struggles while maintaining an uplifting, hopeful message has made them a meaningful voice in contemporary Christian music. Through both their art and their outreach efforts, they continue to inspire listeners with a message that brighter days, and deeper hope, are always ahead.
