Sam Rivera

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Sam Rivera started singing at the age of 15 in the church his Salvadoran immigrant parents have been pastors for 20 years. The youngest of 4 siblings, says he "avoided opportunities to sing at church (because he) hadn't experienced life and felt he had nothing to share". This self-doubt led to Sam questioning his faith and walking away from the church. Riddled with anger, confusion, and anxiety, Same tried to take his own life twice.

During this low point in his life, he sat down at a piano and began singing worship songs. That experience led to him embracing music as a place he could escape and express his emotions. At the age of 18, he began writing songs.

While writing his own original songs, he was performing covers on YouTube. At the start of 2020, he posted a bilingual version of Todo Va Estar Bien which quickly gained views including Evan Craft, who reached out within 2 hours of the video going live. That has led to a friendship between the 2 artists and some collaborations as well. For Sam, he "hopes his listeners that are lost or losing their faith will find hope and reconnect or discover their faith in Christ."
