Tauren Wells


The 32 year old from Battle Creek, Michigan, Tauren Wells is the former frontman and founding member of Royal Tailor. The group formed while they were students at the Indiana Bible College. In 2011, Royal Tailor released its freshman album, Black & White. 2013, Saw the release of their self-titled album that included "Ready Set Go" (featuring Capital Kings) as its single, but eventually, with life pointing them all in other directions, the band members went in different directions.. The guys began to marry and start families. In 2015, the group parted ways to each pursue individual interests. For Tauren, pursuing a solo career felt like a complete reboot. In 2016, he signed with Provident Label Group/Reunion Records as a solo artist and we saw the release of his first music in three years. The hard-hitting single "Undefeated" featured rapper KB and served as the soundtrack for the internet-famous Dude Perfect's “World Records Edition” episode.

Jump to January 2017, when Tauren released the single,"Hills and Valleys" which reached No. 8 on the Christian Airplay Chart.

In 2018, Wells received Grammy nominations for Best Contemporary Christian Performance/Song and Contemporary Christian Album of the Year. Tauren won GMA Dove Awards nominations for Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for "Hills & Valleys" . He was also featured on Social Club Misfits "War Cry" which took home Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year.

Tauren and his team are planning an unconventional approach to the Christian genre. “I want to be a pioneer for Christian music, but I'm not trying to be famous or be cool for the sake of being cool, I want to say something that impacts people,” says Tauren.

At home, Tauren and his wife, Lorna, have 3 kids, Kanaan, Lawson and 2018 addition, Navy Elliott. He has served on the staff of his father-in-law's church in Houston.  He currently leads worship regularly at Elevation Church and Lakewood Church.
