Hannah Kerr

The heart of a worshipper is ageless.

Hannah Kerr, born January 6, 1997 in Buffalo, New York is a Christian pop style contemporary music performer. The heart of a worshipper is ageless and Hannah has a heart for worship and a gift for writing songs that usher others into God’s presence with a strong, distinctive voice. She was raised in a Christian home where music was a constant. Her parents were worship leaders, so that is  where she gets her love for worship.

Like all young people, she was also greatly influenced by music. Casting Crowns was the first concert she attended, she later ended up being mentored by the band’s leader Mark Hall. She grew up listening to them along with Steven Curtis Chapman, Mercy Me, and boy bands like True Vibe. She also listened to her parents, who loved to sing and lead worship. Their worship music has always inspired her and she never imagined herself being an artist, but always loved to sing. Watching her parents lead worship was the perfect outpouring of their gift and it planted a seed in her heart. Hannah's heart for serving others and her gift as a worship leader blossomed in her home church in Tennessee. She started leading worship for the student ministry, at Brentwood Baptist, just south of Nashville.

Though only 18-years-old at the time, her music recording career began in 2015 with the release of her debut single "I Stand Here" which was released on M2T (Made to Thrive) Records, a division of Black River Entertainment, established by Mark Hall of Casting Crowns. The single landed a spot on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart at 47.

In September 2016, Hannah Kerr released her debut studio album, Overflow. The second single off the album, Undivided, became her second charting song at number 41 on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart. She released a cover of Judy Garland's Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas in November 2016, which debuted on the Hot Christian Songs chart at Number 40, becoming her first entry on that chart, it also landed at No. 15 on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart, her highest charting single on that chart, so far. "Radiate" was chosen as the third single from Overflow album. That song peaked at No. 35 on the Hot Christian Songs chart and No. 27 on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart, respectively. In August 2017 "Warrior" was released as the fourth single from the Overflow album, which hit number 20 on the Hot Christian Songs chart.

As she takes her music all over the country, Hannah admits she has learned a great deal from both her producer Mark Miller and her mentor Mark Hall. From Mark Hall she learned that ministry is the most important part of being an artist and being a worship leader. Mark Miller has taught her that it’s okay to be herself and that’s what people want. Transparency, authenticity and passion are the foundation of Hannah Kerr’s music, and they inform the songs that populate her impressive debut.
